Airbus to show advanced aircraft, choppers at Aero India 2021

Aviation major Airbus will showcase a wide selection of its advanced aerospace technologies and services at the Aero India 2021 exposition, all set to be held at the Yelahanka Air Force Station here from February 3 to 5.

Airbus exhibits will be located at Stand B.2.6 in Hall B. On display will be a scale model of the C295, medium transport aircraft and a digital display of the A330 MRTT (Multi-Role Tanker Transport) aircraft.

Scale models of the multi-role helicopter H225M and the AS565MBe Panther, the all-weather, multi-role force multiplier will also be on display.

Israeli warplanes hit Gaza after rocket fire: Army

Israel’s military said Monday its fighter planes struck Hamas facilities in the Gaza Strip after Palestinians fired rockets at the Jewish state.
Two rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip towards the coast near the southern city of Ashdod, according to a military statement.
“In response…fighter jets struck military targets belonging to the Hamas terror organisation in the Gaza Strip, including tunnel digging sites,” the army said.

With an emphasis on promoting defence exports, the India Pavilion at Aero India 2021 next month will showcase a range of indigenously developed helicopters while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to hold a conclave of Defence Ministers from the Indian Ocean Littoral (IOR) states, according to a senior defence official.

At $43 million each, the Tejas Mark 1A competes in the export market

On Wednesday, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced the Union Cabinet’s clearance for Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) to build 83 Tejas Mark 1A light combat aircraft (LCA) for Rs 45,696 crore. This raised concerns that the improved version of the current Tejas Mark 1 fighter would cost a daunting Rs 550 crore each.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) on January 13 announced the induction of the indigenous, 110-km range Beyond Visual Range (BVR) air-to-air-missile, Astra. Space Force awards Lockheed Martin $4.9 billion for missile warning satellites

WASHINGTON — Lockheed Martin secured $4.9 billion to build three missile warning satellites for the U.S. Space Force, according to a Jan. 4 announcement.
The company already received $2.9 billion in 2018 to begin work on the satellites, which will be part of the Next Generation Overhead Persistent Infrared (Next Gen OPIR) system.
